Ardustat Parts List
You will need
- Arduino Unit - $35 at Lady Ada or Spark Fun. The Decimillia, NG Rev C and Original units work fine, the NG Rev B needs a resistor to be hacked (as explained here).
- Maxim 5250 - 4 Channel 10 bit dac. I chose it because I originally wanted 4 channels per unit. I may actually get to this at some point. $14 bucks at digikey.
- Winbond 720X-X - Digital Pot. 255 Taps in a nice PDIP package. Choose the resistance range you need keep the theory in mind. $5-$10 at digikey.
- NTE-R56-7D.5-6 - relay, available at mouser for ~$4 bucks
- Fixed resistors - You’ll need two 10kΩ and two 100 Ω. Radio shack is fine, or digikey.
- 2.5 mm mono jack - I use these from digikey. fitty cents.
- Standard Row Headers - You’ll need two continuous 8 pin headers, and one 6 pin and one 4 pin.
- One LED - Any color will do.
- IC Sockets - optional but they come in handy
- Ardustat Board Design - available with the source packages from the main page.
When I build my next round I’ll put up a step by step tutorial here.
