Me
I’m not the only Dan Steingart.
The other one grew up 15 miles away from me and is probably my distant cousin. Funny thing is that I only found out about him when I kept on getting emails asking how my time in Israel was by people I’??ve never met before. I’??ve never been to Israel, and I don’??t plan on going anytime soon.
Thus: a page is needed to differentiate me from that Dan Steingart, and any other that might be lurking about. Not to say the other Dan Steingart isn’??t a perfect gentleman: he is, and if you’??re looking for a perfect gentleman I suggest that you seek him out, because I’??m only so so in that regard.
What I’??ve got going for me that most other Dan Steingarts (as far as I know right now) don’??t have is
- A wife named Sally (her real name is Sara, but that’??s for her to explain on her seldom updated page)
- A PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley
- A cushy position as a Post-Doc at UC Berkeley
- Ownership in a small company
- Ongoing interests in the areas of
- Additive fabrication processes, particularly at the microscale
- Micropower systems research (materials and design)
- Wireless sensor networking in industrial application
- Open source laboratory equipment
- A sticky joint on the middle finger of my right hand
- A nifty Mac OS X Widget
- Some publications (but not enough!)
Anyhow, I appreciate your time as there are many other Dan Steingarts that you could be reading up on right now. If I’??ve forgotten anything, or you’??re another Dan Steingart wanting a link, give a shout.
